¿Por qué el 4 de mayo se celebra el día de Star Wars?

El «May4th» o mas conocido como el «May the fourth be with you», es un excelente día para celebrar el aprecio a esta increíble saga de películas, pero ¿por qué se celebra el día de Star Wars el 4 de Mayo? Aquí te lo voy a responder.

El origen del nombre «May4th» surgió en el 4 de mayo de 1979, cuando una nota escrita por el Partido conservador de Reino Unido para el diario británico británico London Evening News, felicitó a Margaret Thatcher por su victoria en las elecciones de Gran Bretaña. la nota iba acompañada con la frase “May The Fourth be with you” siendo juego de palabras que hace referencia a la clásica frase de Star Wars “May The Force Be With You”.

Si bien en su inicio solo fue un simple juego de palabras, a partir del 2008 los grupos de star Wars que se empezaron a crear en las redes sociales, empezaron a celebrar este día mostrando sus colecciones o con fotos de ellos viendo las películas de la saga.

En 2011 se llevó a cabo la primera celebración organizada que se llevó a cabo en el Toronto Underground Cinema de Canadá, donde se llevaron a cabo proyecciones de la trilogía original, concursos y muchas otras cosas más.
