El Final de Ozark: ¿Cómo esquivar al destino?

Desde fines de abril está disponible la conclusión de una historia iniciada allá por 2017, la cual si me preguntan a mi, jamás pensé que evolucionaría al nivel de convertirse en una de las mejores opciones de Netflix.

Después de 4 temporadas y 5 años de un público expectante, la historia de la familia Bryde alcanzó su punto máximo gracias al resultado entregado: las acciones ejecutadas , el tono cada vez mas sombrío y el destino final que le esperaba a sus protagonistas.

Con estilo propio.

Ozark nunca podrá considerarse como «tibia». El método de sus guionistas para cautivar al espectador, fue el de jugar con la premisa de llevar a los límites a cada personaje, con el único plan de que este los atraviese. Esa sólida estructura, el acompañamiento actoral y la dirección fue una triada invencible, sin dudas, pero luego de 4 temporadas (y media) ya estaba quedando poco hilo en el carretel para continuar subiendo la apuesta.

En este punto es cuando me refiero a los giros argumentales muy bien ejecutados y al ya mencionado hecho de llevar a sus protagonistas a desafiar sus propios limites, en un contexto donde los errores se pagan con la muerte. Sin embargo, a lo largo de sus 5 años, los realizadores si bien han perfeccionado su método, irónicamente también conocieron su propio límite para extender su universo sin morir en el intento.

El principio del fin.

La segunda parte de esta cuarta temporada, comienza con desorden e intensidad, pero poco a poco opta por desacelerar motores para iniciar el cierre de todas las puertas que el principio de la temporada abrieron. Pero bajar el ritmo en esta instancia no significa disminuir el peligro ni la incertidumbre. En ningún momento el espectador sabrá quien tiene reservada una bala (ni de quien) porque el final ha empezado, y ninguno de sus jugadores quiere perder en la última ronda, donde una simple acción podría ubicarlos del lado equivocado de la balanza.

Para realizar un resumen macro sobre mi apreciación de Ozark, considero que la serie ha sabido cautivar desde su originalidad al ponernos en la piel de unos protagonistas que rozan lo nerd, y se arman con tecnicismos contables y estrategias políticas para continuar con vida.

Si bien hay mucho humor negro dentro de las historias, en ningún momento sus interpretes son motivo de risa y eso se debe al contexto forjado a su alrededor, donde nada le gana a esa densidad creada a partir de las miserias humanas que arrastran cada uno de sus complejos personajes.

Nadie puede esquivar su destino.

Sin adentrarme en los detalles, que prefiero que descubran por si mismos, les advierto que la conclusión de esta inquietante historia estará plagada de drama, suspenso y tragedia. Y en función de esto último Chris Mundy, el creador de la serie, aseguró que si bien hubo muchos finales pensados respecto al destino de la familia Bryde y de su círculo mas cercano, lo incluido en el corte final será los que este consideró mas acorde en función del destino y las acciones que cada uno de ellos fue forjando a lo largo de estos 5 años.

Por lo tanto, Ozark no nos darán resoluciones complacientes, ni redenciones: el que tenga que morir, morirá en su ley, pero los que sobrevivan también lo harán bajo el código que aceptaron desde el primer día en que decidieron adentrarse en las profundidades de este singular pueblo de Misuri.
